Pharmacy from the Greek word (pharmakon) meaning "drug" is the health profession that links the health sciences with the chemical sciences. It revolves around people and medicines with special emphasis on the
manufacture of medicines, research and development, product development, their quality control supply,
appropriate use and effects as well as searching for new molecules or drugs. The ultimate concern of pharmaceutical technology is to ensure the patient receives appropriate and quality medicines and benefits from the proper use of these medicines.
